The main application of this type of cable is precisely to prevent the formation of ice in the pipes. In order to avoid this, the self-regulating cable is laid along the surface of the pipes, put an insulation and, with a simple connection to the power supply, you get a moderate heat, with low power consumption and help to avoid the formation of ice.
SELF-REGULATING CABLES FOR OIL
One of the possible applications of this special type of heating cable, is that of heating pipes or tanks inside which there must slide mineral oil. The oil, with the lowering of the temperatures, tends to solidify, making difficult its use.
With the application of this type of cable and with a good insulation of the pipes, it is possible to have a constant flow of oil without having the same block and consequently the much costly downtime

This particular type of cable allows to have a uniformity of heating over the entire surface thus guaranteeing a constant heating, and then the fluidity of the product.
The self-regulating cable is composed mainly of 2 conductor wires which are drowned inside a polymer. With increasing temperature, the polymer increases its resistivity gradually until you get to a zero absorption at certain temperatures.
